How we collect pest control prices
Every price on our pest control cost, termite treatment cost and termite inspection cost pages comes from a page we can link to, and carries the date we checked it. Our current dataset: 80 price points from 25 sources, checked between 2026-09-23 and 2026-09-23.
Three kinds of figures, always labeled
- Published price — a pest control company states its own price on its own website (for example, “monthly plans start at $X”). This is our primary data.
- Company estimate — a company’s blog gives a market average or range, not its own price list. Shown separately.
- National cost site estimate — figures from sites such as Angi or homeyou. Their methods are not fully disclosed, so we show them only as a comparison.
What each price point records
The company, the city, the service, the exact figure and unit (one-time, per month, per quarter, per year…), whether it is a “starts at” price or a range, the warranty when stated, the exact words from the source page (when a price is split across a page’s layout, we join the fragments with “…”), a link to that page, and the date we checked it.
Rules we don’t break
- We never invent, average or round a company’s published price. Our build checks that each stored quote contains the dollar amount we show; we keep an archived copy of each source page, and quotes are re-checked against those copies at each update.
- We only add an initial fee to a plan’s first-year total when the company ties that fee to its plans; if a company includes the first visit, we count it as included.
- No company pays to appear in this data, and none can pay to change its position.
- Published prices are advertised starting points. Your quote depends on your home, the pest and the severity — always get it in writing.
- Prices older than six months are flagged for re-checking.
Corrections
If a price has changed or we got something wrong, email [email protected] with the page link and we will re-check it.
